About the Fermilab Library

Our goal at the Fermilab Library is to support high energy physics research at Fermilab, and to support the high energy physics community worldwide.
The library is located in Wilson Hall on the third floor crossover. Our collection has approximately 7,000 volumes, from college-level texts to more advanced research. There are also engineering standards, conference proceedings and journals. The library provides site-wide online access to many journals and electronic resources.  There is a printer/copier/scanner and two computers for patron use.
The Library is open 24/7 to persons with Wilson Hall access, and is open to members of the public by appointment. The reference desk is staffed Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  Fermilab badge holders may check out books any time. Please use the self-service check-out box located near the reference desk when library staff are not available.
We welcome requests for eBooks, engineering standards, and journal articles. We obtain books and articles from local, national and international sources. Most articles are e-mailed as PDFs within two days at no charge to the patron.
The Library is part of the Information Resources Group, led by Heath O’Connell, which is part of the Core Computing Division.
